Elle est actuellement<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong> la plus petite commune de France<\/strong><\/span>. En effet, sa superficie n&#8217;est que de 3,54 hectares soit approximativement la surface de la place Charles-de-Gaulle \u00e0 Paris. <em>Lieux et monuments:<\/em> village fortifi\u00e9 sur un \u00e9peron rocheux, vestiges des remparts; Palais ducal transform\u00e9 en mairie; \u00e9glise restaur\u00e9e au xixe si\u00e8cle. <em>Personnalit\u00e9s li\u00e9es \u00e0 la Commune: <\/em>Jeanne d&#8217;Albret m\u00e8re du roi Henri IV.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Rochefourchat <\/strong>est une commune fran\u00e7aise, situ\u00e9e dans le d\u00e9partement de la Dr\u00f4me et la r\u00e9gion Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes. Rochefourchat est <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">la commune de France la moins peupl\u00e9e avec un seul habitant <\/span><\/strong>recens\u00e9 officiellement en 2007, mais en fait, aucun n\u2019y habite en permanence. Elle comprend 1 r\u00e9sidence principale et 6 r\u00e9sidences secondaires, mais aussi 18 \u00e9lecteurs et <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>un conseil municipal de 9 \u00e9lus<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Majastres <\/strong>(<em>Majastre <\/em>en proven\u00e7al selon la norme mistralienne) est une commune fran\u00e7aise, situ\u00e9e dans le d\u00e9partement des Alpes-de-Haute-Provence et la r\u00e9gion Provence-Alpes-C\u00f4te d&#8217;Azur. Avec <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">deux habitants permanents<\/span><\/strong>, c\u2019est la commune la moins peupl\u00e9e du d\u00e9partement (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) et de la r\u00e9gion Provence-Alpes-C\u00f4te d&#8217;Azur. <em>\u00c9volution d\u00e9mographique:<\/em> 1315: 26 feux; 1471: inhabit\u00e9e; 1540: 16 feux; 1765: 276; 1800: 202; 1836: 270; 1861: 226; 1881: 166; 1886: 174; 1901: 137; 1911: 95; 1921: 57; 1931: 41; 1946: 43; 1954: 35; 1962: 27; 1975: 14; 1982: 12; 1990: 10; 1999: 8; 2006: 2; 2008: 2.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Les communes sans habitant<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Six communes totalement d\u00e9vast\u00e9es apr\u00e8s la bataille de Verdun en 1916 ne furent jamais reconstruites et ne poss\u00e8dent <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">aucun habitant<\/span><\/strong> : Beaumont-en-Verdunois, Bezonvaux, Cumi\u00e8res-le-Mort-Homme, Fleury-devant-Douaumont, Haumont-pr\u00e8s-Samogneux et Louvemont-C\u00f4te-du-Poivre.
